Should a 16 boy be charged as an adult for a non-violent crime?

A 16 year old is charged with lewd and lecivious conduct with a girl who called him, asked him to come to her house, her "myspace" said she was 16, she turned out to be 14 at the time. Ten months later he is charged, the juvenile courts say they don't have the resources to handle it and he is now going to be tried as adult with the maximum charge of life in prison facing him. Any suggestions on who to contact for help? Thanks!
