Could this be a factor in the apparent dissatisfaction with life by the youth of today?

I am the offspring of the WWII generation. We were privileged compared to what our parents had and lived through. They wanted more for us. They gave us more and we learned the wrong message. We learned that giving is loving. We were so wrong. What our offspring learned is it is OK to be selfish, get what you want at all costs, even integrity. Now their offspring are so disillusioned that honesty and integrity is of no value so what is left for them?
