Can I force my school to exempt me from their shaving rule?

I attend a private Catholic school where it is part of the dress code to be cleanly shaven. However, the more I shave, the more aggravated my acne gets. Can I go to my doctor and get a note asking the school to exempt me from this rule? If I do get such a note and my school refuses to acknowledge it, what action(s) can I take?
