Does anyone know how to remove the "read-only" attribute from a cd-r? Need 2 edit text, but can only read it.

Dual cd-r drives on my tower. Both show cd as read-only in header that appears upon openeing and file details that contain attributes that run along side. I need to make this a normal writable cd for editing purposes.
