So you wanna ask a proposal...to a guy?

Namaskara India! Ok I just wanna know about how a girl normally goes about asking a guy for marriage in India!! A friend of mine said several girls had sent marriage proposals but I wanna know how do the girls do this? What do you say to the guy? Do you send him gifts, etc?? Hindu, Christian, Jain, etc...What's the different ways girls propose?!! Just really interested =) I lived in India for 13 1/2 months but never saw this done!!!! Thanx =) Cheers!
