Natwest are a joke.?

I have just spent an hour on hold trying to get through to Natwest. My family and I went out for dinner tonight when we got the bill I gave my Natwest debit card to pay. It was declined repeatedly. I knew there was money in the account so could not understand what was going on. Anyway I had my visa card with me so I thought I will pay with that and then transfer the money from my bank account into my visa account as soon as I get home.As I know this will put my card over its limit. I cannot get onto online banking so I ring them and an hour later I get put through to someone who does not even apologise for keeping me waiting. It transpires that the whole of Natwest is down. Noone can pay for anything noone can get money out etc...Can I make them pay the charges if I go over my credit card limit? Also if I cannot access my account tomorrow what am I going to do as not even the branches will be able to access accounts. Natwest are really really rude. Please advise.....
