My dog has a sc in the inside flap of his ear, is there anything I can put on it?

I think he got it when he was itching his ears with his paws. He just got groomed so his ears are plucked and they are light pink. I dont think he has an ear infection. But the sc on the inner part of the flap is hard crusted and kinda gross, I think it might be infected but its not real bad cuz his ear isnt red and he lets me touch it so it cant be that painful.. can I put vaseline on it? What can I do to help clean it? I have epi-otic, can I use that on a cotton ball?
